MotoDiscovery celebrates Dia de los Muertos

The tradition is deep. It existed 3,000 years ago in Mesoamerica, an annual celebratory reunion with the departed. It would blend with European observance of All Souls Day with the 16th century arrival of Spanish Conquistadors and Christianity. The result is something unique on a global scale. Nowhere will you find this more authentic, than in the Central Mexico region of Oaxaca (wha-ha-ka).  MotoDiscovery invites you to join

Wyoming ADV Tour

A BDR inspired adventure just for you! Better sign up soon. This one is in high demand!

This second annual running of the Wyoming BDR is a MotoDiscovery rated ADVENTURE+.  The route follows the newly announced Wyoming Backcountry Discovery Route as featured in the much-anticipated MotoDiscovery supported full-length documentary.   Expected riding conditions to include a variety of terrain such as short distances of rocky roads, easily navigated well maintained gravel and pleasant pavement stretches. We can’t guarantee a ride free from unexpected challenges. This is a true adventure. But the Wyoming BDR ADV will be an adventure at its best, delivered with the highest standards of excellence and service that you have come to expect from MotoDiscovery.  Space limited on this Wyoming motorcycle tour. Participants must have prior off road riding experience. Make your reservation today.

NOTE: This tour, and all MotoDiscovery USA Back Road tours are highly subject to itinerary changes, even last minute, due to weather, forest fire threats, landslide road closures and ongoing research. Please accept this as the nature of adventure travel and count on MotoDiscovery serving your best interests and that of the enjoyment and safety of the group.

  • Backcountry Discovery Routes has paved the way in researching the best off road routes in many regions of the USA. Wyoming is the latest. This exclusive tour will blend the best of the Wyoming BDR in a custom configuration that provides a convenient start and end location.
  • MotoDiscovery ADV+ tours tend to be spirited explorations, stretching the spontaneity and curiosity to see what the road has to offer.  It is all about…discovery!
  • The landscape of this region is highly varied, from rocky alpine mountain passes to sandy narrow-track deserts, and incredible paved highways, this tour has it all.
  • Wyoming is filled with reminders of the first native Americans, the original settlers who once freely roamed like the buffalo that sustained them. This will be a historical journey as well as a great ride.
  • As the least-populated state in the union, Wyoming offers the true experience of blazing new frontiers, through remote, untraveled backcountry. Crowds? You won’t find them here.
  • Experience unique lodging opportunities, ghost towns, mining areas, and the wild-west history that makes Wyoming famous.
  • Keep an eye out for wildlife including moose, bears, pronghorn and more. Prepare for epic vistas and unforgettable experiences.
  • You’ll appreciate the MotoDiscovery support and staff team. When exploring, you can ride with confidence knowing we’re there for you. Plus, we’re just a lot of fun!
  • This 2023 BDR adventure is limited to ten participants. Past riders with MotoDiscovery are already lining up to be a part of this special event.  This ADV tour is very popular, especially with the MotoDiscovery supported Wyoming BDR Documentary appearing on a screen near you. Don’t miss it.

FAQs

How difficult is this ride?

This is a Recon. We will encounter everything from twisty asphalt to technical rocky ascents and descents. The truth is that the difficulty depends on your experience, physicality and spirit. There is NO mandatory single track on this tour. All portions of the route are drivable by a 4×4 high clearance support truck, which will follow behind the group or meet at predetermined intersections on all days of the tour. This tour is best suited for smaller street-legal dual-sport motorcycles between 250-800CC equipped with proper off-road tires.

Will there be a support vehicle?

Yes. Our support vehicle will be with us for the duration of the event to carry your personal gear, tools, water, and provide riders with the confidence to ride their own pace knowing we have your back. Non-riding participants (space is limited please give us a call to confirm) may also join us in the support vehicle.

Should I rent a bike or bring my own?

If you have one of the “mega” touring machines such as the BMW R1250GS, you should have the skills, experience and physicality in line with this heavy and powerful machine. You may benefit from riding from a lighter and more agile motorcycle, therefore rentals should be considered.  Contact us to reserve your well-outfitted rental motorcycle. Motorcycles available for this event in 2022 are the Yamaha WR250R, XT250, Suzuki DRZ400S and the Yamaha Tenere 700.

Will you carry my gear?

Yes. Please pack in dust and waterproof duffels. We gladly carry gear but MotoDiscovery is not responsible for any loss or damage.

How large are the groups?

Higher quality service results when groups are smaller. Group size is limited to ten (10) tour participants plus staff.

Can I bring my friend, wife, husband, etc?

Yes. We have a comfortable overland support vehicle that can accommodate a limited number of passengers. If you are planning to ride 2-up, understand that this is not an event to learn to safely ride off-road with a passenger. Consider attending one of our Rider Training Tours if you would like to sharpen your off-pavement skills.

Can I safely store my truck/van/trailer in Casper, WY during the ride?

Arrangements can be made to store your vehicle and trailer in Casper at the rendezvous hotel. Please contact the hotel directly with information on your vehicle and trailer to confirm.

What sort of gear will I need to bring?

This will be covered in our pre-trip communication emails along with other valuable preparation tips.  Keep in mind that space is limited in the support vehicle and gear can be stowed in Casper at the hotel while on the tour.

Will there be any tent camping?

There is no tent camping on this event.

When should I book my tour?

Book now!  For a better touring experience, we keep our groups small and exclusive which frequently results in tours being “sold out”.

Can you design a special tour just for my friends and I?

Yes. MotoDiscovery creates special private customized tours around the world each season. We are experts and regard this as our specialty. Contact us today for more information, or go to our Custom Tour Questionnaire link to begin the process.
